At Iris-group we are firm believers in the value of a responsible attitude towards environmental noise pollution and adherence to the various elements of best practice in this important field.

The greatest obstacle facing us is lack of information on the part of prospective clients as to why it is vital they take careful steps towards effective noise mitigation, awareness of legislative requirements, as well as productive management of the complaints resulting from noisy works within a community.

Once our clients have understood the dangers of unmanaged environmental noise pollution our ethos and the purpose behind our vision become clearer and the added value of our services is immediately apparent. Below you will find our database of informative articles, resources and documents that we believe will help readers develop a better understanding of the subject.

Interactive noise maps from DEFRA

July 20th, 2011

These are interactive nationwide noise maps for agglomerations of 250,000 or more by noise source (road, rail and industry), and for airports. We believe they demonstrate the importance of minimising the effects of noise disturbance faced across a country where there is already far too much.

The number of people exposed to the different noise levels from each source within each agglomeration has also been calculated. A population exposure chart showing the number of people exposed to the different noise levels from each source can be viewed once a successful postcode search has been performed.!ut/p/c5/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3hnd0cPE3MfAwMD42BTA093f1Nvk2ATAwNnA6B8JG55A2MCusNB9uHXD5I3wAEcDfT9PPJzU_ULciMMskwcFQHW4PMe/dl3/d3/L2dBISEvZ0FBIS9nQSEh/
